I had some filllings re-filled with New London Dental and thought, at the time, that the work performed was satisfactory and that the staff were nice, understanding professionals. Moreover, the dentist told me it was in my best interest to have the Mercury fillings replaced with non- Mercury. I was hesitant because it seemed odd that a dentist would want to go through all of that extra work for no additional charge, but ageed since I was told that the Mercury fillings were not the greatest for my health and that the new filling material being used was much more efficient. For starters, this is not the case, the new material is much weaker and the dentist does not seem interested in repairing my filling. I had my Mercury fillings for 20 years or more and some of them had no issues, and the new filling is less than 3 months old and had broke!! Additionally, one of my appointment(s) were cancelled. In fairness, both appointments were cancelled the same day. Under the circumstances, I was left with no other choice. I had an unexpected death, my grandfather of 84 years passed away and lived over 1400 miles away. I explained to the receptionist my predicament and that I would be traveling for the funeral. I was assurred that when I was ready to re-schedule my appointment(s), it would be ""no problem"". About a week ago I returned home; upon returning, one of the fillings that was replaced cracked; leaving an exposed nerve where the dentist had just worked weeks ago, leaving me in terrible pain. When I called the office and tried to make an appointment; I was told that both dentist refused to see me because of my two missed appointments. This was the same person who commended me for breaking my appointments respectfully and was so ""sympathetic"" to the loss of my grandfather. When I proceeded to explain to the receptionist that I had a broken tooth on the work the denist had just previously worked on, she told me that: "It was no longer their problem and that they would send my records on to the dentist of my choice". I was not only shocked, but very disappointed in this practices ability to honor, not only their dentistry, but their policies for missed appointments. Because they refused to atleast fix my tooth I feel that they do not want to stand behind their work. Hence, I also felt that I I was definitley not being considered as a part of their patient work load; therefore, being a number instead of a person.- I am shocked by this, because the staff and the dentist seemed so genuine at first. This just goes to show you: looks are not always what they appear to be.. Sad to say, I would not recommend this office to others..If this dental office or any medical facility, for that matter, can't stand behind their work, or their missed appointment policies, then why bother? Perhaps both dentist are unaware of the situation because the receptionist refused to let me speak firsthand to the dentist. Either way, I would hate to see someone else who is in a similar situation be treated in this manner....
