Dr. Melby and his dental hygienist Jill were great. My son is very sensitive to having his mouth touched and they were both very patient with him.

I've been going to see Dr. Melby for years now and I can honestly say he's an outstanding dentist and a great guy. He's extremely outgoing and patient and explains everything he's doing so you know exactly what's going on, and he'll answer any questions you have. His injections and extractions are really gentle--he took out my wisdom teeth and I didn't even have any swelling--and his prices are better than a lot of dentists I've been to. He's also really interesting to talk to. He travels all over the place to do free dental work in places like Africa and Indonesia. Not sure why the previous person had such a negative reaction to him, he's definitely not in it for the money.

He is an A-hole. I went to his office when I first moved to Molalla in 1999. I went for a cleaning. I had a tooth that had been grey for approximately 5 or more years and he determined it was dead. He wanted to do x-rays and the hygenist told him I was pregnant and didn't want any. The man went off! Saying how the medical community exaggerates things and the amt of radiation from dental x-rays is not much, etc... Just yelling at me. I then asked him if he could guarantee my child would not be born with a birth defect from it, which of course he couldn't and he shut up. I've never been back and would definitely not recommend. When he told me the risks and I declined, that should've been the end of it. I figure he had some bill he needed to pay and needed the money.
