I saw Dr. Boldish when I lived near Honesdale in 2010-2011 and was VERY happy. I need a dentist who is affordable, competent, and personable. Dr. Boldish is all three. One thing I appreciate at Dr. Boldish's office is that it's modest and simple enough that I feel confident that my money isn't paying for superfluous things. I don't need the extra frills that some offices have (as if granite counter tops and 15 flat screen TVs is going to convince me that I should hire them...those things makes me feel like I am paying for those luxuries rather than just quality dental care!) While all dental care is rather expensive, I called every office in Honesdale and found that Dr. Boldish charges less than anyone else in town for routine cleanings and x-rays. And while I found the best price in town at Dr. Boldish's office, After I saw him, I did not feel in any way that I had sacrificed quality or competence. Great place.
My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Boldish for over 12 years, and we find him quite professional and personable. I feel our teeth are in good hands with him, and he does what he needs to in order to keep them in good shape. He has always been sensitive to my pain while performing procedures, and he DOES wear gloves! I do not feel he has ever pushed us to have unnecessary work done, as has been my experience with other dentists. The wait time in his office is always minimal. We have recommended him to more than one friend and they have been happy with him as well. We are happy with Dr. Boldish and his office, and will continue to use him and recommend him to others!
I started to see Dr. Boldish about 3 yrs ago. His prices were high but I needed a dentist as I just moved to the area. This year I had a root canal done by him and it took him about 4 visits to do the root canal...we made payment arrangements which I paid them each at the agreed time. The last payment of 91.00 I could only make half. My tooth had become infected and I really needed to see him. When he found out that I could not pay the total amount he cancelled the appt. This angered me but there was nothing I could do but reschedule which I did. When I went to his office for him to finish the procedure he was rude to me and made many rude and unprofessional statements. When I responded back with why I needed to only pay half and that I had always paid him on time every other time he responded w/ " well don't you have all the answers" He had done another root canal before for me and ALWAYS used novicane to numb me so I would not feel discomfort this time however he decided not to use any novicane what so ever and began the root canal on my infected very sore tooth. It was very very painful and he explained that it was eaiser for him to do it w/ out the novicane...funny since he was able to do it fine w/ novicane before. Screaming in pain I finally asked him for novicane which he finally administered a very small amount. But rather than put it in the gum line which he also always did before he stuck the needle down the canal rather agressively which also caused me great pain! Needless to say he finished I paid the bastard and have since found a very nice, professional dentist who fit me for a crown and charged me much less then he did. Also, the man doesn't use gloves which is against OSHA regulations and is disgusting! I highly recommend that no one goes to this man!
