This is a great grocery store and we are very lucky to have such a nice Publix on the island. My only complaint is with the deli department. It's very convenient for me to get a sub sandwich from the deli on occasions because it is so close. However, I recently noticed that the last few times I've gotten a sub they have charged me for Boars Head meat (which happens to be more expensive) when I didn't ask for it. I also noticed they used the pre-sliced meat from under the counter to make my sandwich. Normally when you ask for Boars Head they take the large pieces of meat from the display cooler and slice it in front of you. The next time I went, I asked for Boars Head meat upfront because, if I'm going to pay for it I'd at least like to get what I pay for. Again, they took the pre-sliced meats from under the counter and used that. I asked if she was using Boars Head meat since she would be charging me for it and I received a mumbled response about how it's all Boars Head meat now or something. I'm not sure I honestly believe that. If you're going to charge customers for more expensive deli meat then it needs to be clear that is what they're getting. If it really is all Boars Head meat now then the price sign needs to be changed to reflect that. It sounds petty, I know, but it's happened to me several times now and I don't like giving away money for nothing!
