Distinctive Dentistry is an excellent practice, one I recommend to all my friends, for two primary reasons. The first reason is that Dr. Cunningham is a great dentist. He truly listens to his patients. He treats their symptoms and the causes of those symptoms. Many dentists seem to have a preset idea of what causes certain problems, and they base their treatment on that. Maybe because he's young, I don't know, but Dr. Cunningham is more than happy to listen to your symptoms, diagnose your problem, and either fix you or refer you out. His technique is excellent, I've never had a root canal not hurt until his. Secondly, he is very aware of insurance and billing issues. I've seen him more than once code a procedure to maximize savings. He does have an assistant who helps with that, but with this small office you get the feel that Dr. Cunningham directly oversees the billing and related issues. I highly recommend anyone in the Irmo/Ballentine area or beyond to give this office a chance. This praise is coming from someone who hates going to the dentist, if that tells you anything.
