Kool Smiles Dentist
Reviews
Kool Smiles is a GREAT Dentist office. The Dentists are wonderful and the Staff is AWESOME!! My daughter goes there and she absolutely LOVES it and never wants to leave. She really enjoys the toys and the play area they have for the children. The office is very nice, spacious, and clean. I recommended Kool Smiles to several individuals in need of a dentist office to take their children or even themselves. Kool Smiles get two thumbs up from me and they should keep up the great work.
KOOL SMILES ROCK!! MY CHILDREN ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE PLAY ZONE AND THEIR EXPERIENCES WERE AWESOME!! THE STAFF WERE & ARE ALWAYS PLEASANT AND THEY ALWAYS ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE AN ENJOYABLE VISIT!
The front desk staff is very rude. I have used Kool Smiles for my kids in the past and probably will do so in the future; so, long as they only need cleanings (their hygenists are great). However, I used them for myself just yesterday and was horrified. I got a cleaning and check-up by Dr. G in February and was told I needed two fillings. I went in yesterday to get the fillings and a doctor other than Dr. G (this one was tall thinly/medium build and blonde) came in, did not introduce himself nor explain anything of the procedure. I have had fillings before and have always opted for porcelain. This Dr. did not ask my preference; so, I assumed he would go by the options chosen on my other fillings. I came out an hour later sore as hell (from the forceful needle injections) with a SILVER filling...these are my permanent teeth dumb-dumb why would you do that? I was given no post-treatment instructions or anything; so, after the numbness wore off and I realized that my teeth had a substance left on it sharp enough to cut my tongue I attempted to brush in that area. The pain that radiated through my mouth and jaw was nothing I had expereinced before. I called the office and explained what happened to be told that I was not supposed to brush until the following morning. Now that I think about it...we will be looking for a new dentist for the adults and 6 kids in this family.
We chose Kool Smiles for my 4yr old's first time at the dentist. I assumed that being a kid friendly place would be an excellent choice since he was nervous about going for the first time. Boy was I wrong. The check up was fine but they had a concern about one of his teeth which hadn't formed properly. They recommended a filling until he lost his baby teeth. The filling experience is where it got bad. My son had never experienced anything like the sleeping gas so was nervous about that thing on his nose but the staff wasn't the least bit concerned. The dentist himself (not Dr.G) didn't even talk to him so no wonder he freaked out when the dentist tried to numb up his gum area. They basically told us my son was too scared and we just needed sedation dentistry. Now he is too scared to even go back to the dentist which is what I was trying to avoid to begin with. I think Kool Smiles is a great place for an older child but not a younger one.
Although I had to have some complex work, I was impressed by the skill and perfectionism of the staff. They went beyond just accomplishing the tasks to checking the stages with x-rays to make sure all was correct before moving on to the next step. They are the best and I love the way the children are treated.
