I took my son for a well check up appointment, immediately I was swarmed by the billing department claiming that my son had a flag on his account and I needed to speak with someone in billing before I could even finish checking him in. After some elusive questioning, I soon discovered that this billing issue was my ex-wife's account that went into collections. When I asked if this meant that my son couldn't be seen, her response was, "Oh no, I removed the flag from his account. I just wanted to make you aware of this and give you the collection agency's contact information." For my ex-wife? Seriously, how is this my responsibility? And why does my son have to be late to his appointment due to my ex-wife’s account? At this point we are now 15 minutes late for my son's appointment and I have a huge assessment packet to fill out which is obviously supposed to be conducted at home. Why they didn't send this to me prior to the appointment is beyond me. And on that note, many of the questions required school materials from home. Like I keep safety scissors in my pocket? Seriously??? This assessment obviously means nothing to them because I had to carry the clip board with me for the entire appointment. Finally, I had to offer it to the doctor. When the nurse came in to take my son’s vitals, because he was curious about what she was doing, she got snappy with him and said, “Well now we have to do this again!” Implying that it was my son’s fault she couldn’t hastefully do her job. Then when she came back in to give my son his two kindergarten shots, she refused to give the shots in his arms like I had prepared him for. The experience was absolutely traumatic; all my hard work was wasted. He is traumatized for life. After she gave him his shots, in his legs, she then proceeded to tell my FIVE year old son that his legs were going to be really really sore because he was kicking his legs. AND that her legs were in fact going to be sore too because of him struggling while being traumatized by her. Who in their right mind says that to a child??? Especially a pediatric nurse!! Needless to say, we are NEVER going back to Premier Medical and will happily make the hour drive from Clarksville to Vanderbilt where they love children and go out of their way to make sure children have the best experience possible.
