I haven't been to the emergency room in 20 years so I didn't know what to expect but it wasn't this. I had the flu, a fever of 101 and since I have asthma and was worried about my breathing I went to the emergency room at Grandview since my regular doctor was closed for the holidays. The ER doctor who saw me was wearing a face mask because he told me he also had the flu, they did a flu test to confirm it was the flu and he wrote me a prescription and sent me home. That was it. The bill I received was $1,134 for a flu test and a prescription!!! And they were out of the regular flu test so he used a cotton swab and sent it to the lab for the results. A walk-in clinic would probably have charged $200 - $300 at most.
I would have to be knocked out or carried there against my will before I ever went there again. We have been there several times, long waits in waiting room with no one there, poor service, bad diagnosis, high bills, no help with complaints. Worst possible. I would rather risk a long drive to Chattanooga no matter how bad off I was.
About to get out of here and take Angie home.
All i can say is you are going to be there in the er room for 8 hours are longer .
Slow, Doctors just send you home with ailments that really need attention. They tell you its okay just take this for pain, it will clear itself. Later have to go to another ER, was admitted and emergency surgery performed. Lastview not Grandview
