Ive read all these reviews, and I have to say, most of them are true... I went to him 4 years ago and thought I was so tramatized by the experience that I would never be able to go to a dentist ever again. You will get rushed, you wont be "babied", he is very quick, arrogant and rude... staff (in my experience aren't rude, just in a hurry)... definitely not a place to go if you are looking for a nice, friendly dentist office. He pulled my teeth before the novacaine kicked in, and I felt EVERYTHING!!! I swore I would NEVER go back... But like many people on here said, desperate times call for desperate measures. About a year ago, I had an abcess tooth that literally was making me miss work and I couldn't eat for weeks it hurt so bad. I had to go to him because I had no insurance and he was cheap and available. This time though, was a completely different experience... This time I got the gas!! BEST DECISION EVER!!! $40 more and you can get the gas, the price might've changed by now, but its worth every penny... When I first went back, after the XRay he asked what tooth I wanted pulled, hooked me up to the gas and the next thing I remember I was walking out of the office. No pain, no dealing with attitude... in and out. If you NEED a tooth pulled and you are desperate, GO TO HIM!!! Its definitely not gonna be rainbows and lollipops, but you will be glad you did, expecially after a few days and you don't have to deal with a horrible toothache anymore. Im going again tonight to get 2 more pulled. How many dentists do you know who are open on Sunday nights??? None that I can think of... Just be aware that its not your typical dentist office. It is clean though, so I don't know about some of these reviews that say its dirty in there... I gave 3 stars because it gets the job done... Period.
My husband had an abscessed tooth and needed it out asap and without breaking the bank. I read these reviews telling him "he's horrible" " it's not worth it" a week before we went. I was about to have him go somewhere else because everyone on here was saying he is so bad.. but we didn't have a choice at this point.. But anyway. I was wrong to say the least. His office was CLEAN, not dirty like some people have said. His staff was so nice. I brought my 10 mo old with us and everyone was talking to him and trying to get him to laugh. They immediately took xrays and the stinson came in and numbed him and said he would be right back to give it time to get everything numb. He came back and pulled the tooth he needed done plus a broken off tooth. We were only charged $75 for both. (usually it's $95 for two) He was quick and to the point. We were in and out in 30 mins which was great because he had to go to work. Sure he doesn't have a conversation with you but if you are there just to get something pulled and be on your way.. then who cares. I personally wouldn't go for anything other then emergencies because i'm a huge baby about dentists. lol. He gave him pain meds and some antibiotics also. Overall it was a good experience.
I wouldn't recommend him to a dead dog! I see a lot of people say he see's a hundred people a day. When I saw him there was me and another person there. The parking lot was empty. Even if it was full that was no excuse for his behavior. They brought me back to do the X-ray and take me to the room still filling out the paperwork. He comes in and says jump up here. So I am setting down the paperwork and joking and said "No I don't wanna" so he walks out the room. I'm like what? And asked his assistant if he was coming back I was just joking around. Then when he comes back he hands me a mirror ask me what teeth. (Doesn't even look at the X-ray) I am trying to tell him and explain my problems and concerns. I was having 5 teeth pulled. One was beside a ceramic tooth. Another was the exact opposite of one that ripped a whole in my sinus cavity and broke my jaw bone. I was trying to tell him and ask him if there was any way to tell if it was thru the bone on the X-ray. During which time he wouldn't let me speak. He had his hands all up in my mouth. And when my brother tried to complete my sentence he said "If they were in your bone they would fall out of your mouth" extremely rudely I might add as was he on everything. Usually a dentist will numb your gum with a qtip first but he didn't. So ok, he's cheap you get what you pay for. But as he is numbing me he is talking to someone out in the hallway. And first on the left hand side numbs the wrong area. Then on the right side numbs my cheek instead of my gum!! Then the last tooth was my very front tooth. It is broke in half. He takes his mirror and about ripps it off. And when I jump up hold my mouth cause he just scraped the nerve he says "Guess she don't want it done" I tried to tell him what happened as he was walking off. By this time I am so mad I am shaking however I really need to get this done. So suck it up, I've been thru alot worse. I tried to tell his assistant the same thing about my mouth, which isn't sunday chit chat it is information a dentist needs to know. I got about the same response. Then a little while later he sends his assistance back in and asks if I'm ready to have my tooth pulled. I told him no I was numb in the wrong places. And the dentist comes in anyways and starts to go up in my mouth as I am trying to tell him this. I asked him to wait and he kept going. I blocked my mouth and said wait a minute I need to tell you something. He says "Get a note pad and write it all down for me then I'll read it" and started to walk off. I told him if he didn't have 2 seconds to listen to a patient then he didn't need one and walked out. I have never in my live seen anyone in any kind of profession behave like that. By the time I left my mouth felt raped!! DO NOT GO THERE!!!
Okay, after reading these reviews I was afraid to go to him but I was desperate. We just moved to the are and all other dentist in the area were booked for weeks. I have a condition that caused me to have damaged teeth. Before moving out here I had to have 5 pulled. I still have 3 more that need to get out but due to the high costs of dentists I have to do on an as need basis. Well I had one of those moments not long after moving. My tooth was in so much pain it was making my whole face swell. I was afraid to go here but I went anyways, desperate times calls for desperate measures. They do walk ins (the only one I know of to do this in both NC and here in TN) Are they the friendliest people in the world? Not at first but in his defense he is a busy man (as well as the staff) He takes walk ins on top of regular appts. I went in, gave my info and was put down on the waiting list. It wasn't long before they called me and the other 2 people in line. We all lined up to get XRAYS and then each put in a room. He came in shot me up with the numbing meds and then left to take care of the other people. Once he got done with that he came in pulled my tooth and I was out in no time. At this time I had to bring both my 4 year old and newborn with me and they were very nice about the whole thing (I was apologizing like crazy but I had no other option) He was nice and gave us all tooth brushes and even made sure to pick out a character that my son would like. They automatically give antibiotics and pain meds. They have a set type they give but do give diff if you are allergic. Last week my husband had to have a tooth pulled and I told him to call because I had heard he will come in. Well at 7 that night he was open and they told us to come on by. We were in and out w/in 30 minutes. I would say if you are afraid of dentist like most people and need some real work done then don't go to him. He is not going to "baby" you. If you are like me or my husband and are in desperate need to get that freaking tooth out then go to him. I feel bad that he gets a bad rap because in my years of dealing with dentist this has been my best experience. They were quick so I didn't have to sit there so long dwelling on what was about to happen. He tries to be friendly but goodness gracious he sees TONS of people. I think that any dentist that is willing to take walk ins and do work well after normal business hours deserves some kind of respect. You do have to pay in full before you leave. He has papers taped all over breaking down the cost of each tooth that gets pulled. I had to get a wisdom tooth (by the way most dentist wont pull those) it's 100 but with my insurance I only paid 50. I say thank you to him and his staff and I hope my good review helps out.
This was by far THE WORST experience I have ever had with a dentist. I already dislike going to the dentist, but this experience I had helped me realize why I hate it so much even moreso now than ever before. First off, the front office staff is EXTREMELY rude. I called before I came in and they gave me the wrong information. Thy told me that to get both my bottom wisdom teeth pulled would cost $95. When I got there, they told me that to pull one wisdom tooth cost $100. So they are very misinformed and unhelpful. Apparently the dentist's wife works as one o the receptionists and she is extremely arrogant, rude and judgemental. She assumes that everyone who walks into their office is there to get pain pills. I am a nursing mother I'm not even supposed to be taking any kinds of pills. Second when I went to get numbed the dentist was not even going to warn me about giving me anastesia, he just jabbed my gums about 6 times with the shots and was a smartass to me because I cried when he did that! The shot hurt worse than the pain I was feeling before I even went in. Third he sent me home with antibiotics that were not working and pain pills that made me sick and did not relieve the pain whatsoever. So I called him and told him. He told me to come back the next day he would write me a new prescription. When i cam back I told the ladies what happened and his wife told me "well you should've brought the pain pills back with you since they were not working" and she said it with such an abrupt attitude. I am not a money tree I can't afford to keep buying pills just because the doctor messed up and gave me the wrong prescription! He didn't even give me anything for the pain I was suffering! I ended up having to go to the hospital who game me nausea medicine along with percasets. Now I have dry socket because it urns out that I work with a guy who went to school for dentistry and told me that the dentist should've clotted my opening up, WHICH HE DIDN'T!. I'm reporting him to the health department and the better business bureau. Never again will I go there and they will be reported. Don't refer anybody to him unless you want to be treated like scum.
