My mother lives in McMinnville and has been hospitalized at River Park two times--one time for surgery and this latest time for multiple serious medical problems--some life-threatening. Both times she has been treated very well and has gotten excellent medical and nursing care. I live in a larger city with a "state of the art" hospital, but I think River Park is as good if not better in some ways.

These people are telling the truth about this ,I Don,t want to call it a Hospital,because it really isn,t according to me,But anyway,I have had 3 neck surgiers since 1997.I moved back here to take care of my mother,who was very,very SICK.Even tho she was in so bad of shape,She would not let me take her back to this PLACE! sadly she laid here at home the last year she lived.I didn,t like it then and i do not like it now.If you are a poor person,even tho you haved worked all of your life to pay the most of your money to them fools in washington,It doesn,t matter, Now I had to make a vist to this place by order of my doctor in chatt.,TN. called them in the EM. and asked them to give me the med. that I needed,But instead of trying to help me,after I had spent close to 2 hours to get back thier.The nurse finnaly came over and told me it didn,t matter what my DR. in CHATT. said,They were not going to give me nothing,told me to get some kind of stuff from the store,so I said that if you can,t help me then I do not need to be hear,And I told them,you have not done nothing to me so you better not charge me for being here. I even went to the head guy,and told him the story that i,m telling you,EXCEPT I forgot to tell you that they were laughing at me while they said they were contacting my doctor. I will tell you this,the man that I talked to upstairs,coundn,t give a crap about it,When I mention that they better not charge me for doing nothing at all,he said that somebody has to pay,TALK about 2 insurances I had.I told him that if they sent me a bill,I would turn them in to CIGNA AND MEDICARE for frauding them,so I didn,t see the bill come when it did,cause my mother always got the mail.Anyway,I am stilling thinking about turning them in.I know I should. What do everybody out there think i shoud do it,Please let me know ,then I,ll make up my mind. All I can do is WARN the people of WARREN COUNTY what kind of things that goes on out there,This is just 1 thing I know What happened.GOOD LUCK especally,If you are in the one,s that are barley getting buy,and have to use medicare or no insurance AT ALL! I WAS HIRED AS A REGISTERED NURSE TO WORK AT RIVERPARK HOSPITAL 2013. I WAS CONTACTED BY NURSING MANAGEMENT AT MY HOME MILES AWAY BECAUSE THEY DESPERATELY NEEDED NURSES AND MY NURSE FRIENDS IN MANAGEMENT KNEW I HAVE NURSING EXCELLENCE SKILLS AND HAVE RAN A NURSING UNIT AT VANDERBILT MEDICAL CENTER. LET ME SAY ALTHOUGH I APPRECIATED THEIR DESIRE TO HAVE GOOD NURSES WORK THERE IT WAS OBVIOUS AFTER 3 SHIFTS( I DID PRIOR TO MY FORMAL ORIENTATION TO GET ME ON BOARD QUICKLY DUE TO POOR STAFFING) AND ONE DAY IN MY HOSPITAL NURSING ORIENTATION AS TO WHY THIS HOSPITAL HAS A BAD REPUTATION AND GIVES SUBSTANDARD MEDICAL CARE- THE MANAGEMENT! IT WAS A NIGHTMARE OF UNPROFESSIONALISM , POOR COMMUNICATION AND SEVERE RACIAL PREJUDICE. (I AM A WHITE WOMAN.) DURING THE FIRST DAY OF MY GENERAL HOSPITAL ORIENTATION THEY ACTUALLY REFERRED TO BLACKS AS MONKEYS. I DID REPORT THIS TO CAPELLA HEALTH- ETHICS OFFICER- THE PARENT COMPANY, SINCE I RESIGNED AFTER THE HORRIBLE BEHAVIOR AND UNETHICAL CONDUCT OF THE HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT- AND THE ETHICS OFFICER SAID THEY WOULD DEFINITELY BE DOING SENSITIVITY TRAINING WITH THE EMPLOYEE IN MANAGEMENT AT RIVERPARK THAT MADE THE COMMENTS THAT WERE ON HIS SLIDE.I SUGGESTED THEY DO IT WITH THE ENTIRE STAFF AND THE CEO. HE SAID HE WOULD BE MEETING WITH THE CEO IN PERSON. I ALSO DID NOT RECEIVE MY PAYCHECK AS A DIRECT RESULT OF MY RESIGNATION AND ADVOCACY FOR PATIENTS AND HAD TO MAKE NUMEROUS CALLS TO HR AND MANAGEMENT TO TRY TO GET MY PAYCHECK THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DIRECTLY DEPOSITED TO MY BANK ACCOUNT AS HAD BEEN DONE PREVIOUSLY BY RIVERPARK. I CALLED BOTH THE CNO-KEN WARE AND THE NEW HR MANAGER LEAVING SEVERAL MESSAGES.. KEN REFUSED TO ANSWER MY CALLS AND MESSAGES ALTHOUGH WHEN HE WANTED ME THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH HIM CONTACTING ME PRIOR AND GAVE ME HIS PERSONAL CELL PHONE NUMBER. HUMAN RESOURCES PROMISED ME THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME YET TO NO AVAIL.FINALLY- MUCH LATER I DID FINALLY GET MY CHECK IN THE MAIL. TREATING ME THIS WAY IS SO IMMATURE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. IMAGINE WHY THE PATIENTS CANNOT GET GOOD CARE AT RIVERPARK WHEN THEY TREAT EMPLOYEES IN ORIENTATION WITH SUCH DISRESPECT. I ALSO WAS TOLD I HAD BEEN ON A SCHEDULE AND YET NO ONE HAD LET ME KNOW THIS- UNTIL THE MANAGER JOHN ROBINSON FACEBOOK MESSAGED ME . WHEN I CONFRONTED HIM AT THE HOSPITAL HE SAID SOMEONE HAD PUT ME ON A SCHEDULE AND THAT HE DID NOT KNOW ABOUT IT- CRAZY MANAGEMENT! THEY NEED TO TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR POOR POOR MANAGEMENT SKILLS AS PEOPLE AND AS A TEAM. ALSO THE MAIN POINT THE NURSES TOLD ME WHILE ORIENTATING ME WAS THE HCAP SCORES- THINGS THE PATIENTS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THEIR CARE AND THEIR EXPERIENCES THE PATIENTS CARE IS NOT THE PRIORITY- JUST THE APPEARANCE OF CARING.. I DON'T DO THAT TYPE OF NURSING BECAUSE I COULD BE ONE OF THE PATIENTS AND I WANT MY PATIENTS I CARE FOR TREATED WITH RESPECT AND DIGNITY AND CARED FOR UNDER NURSING EXCELLENCE-AS I WOULD ALSO WANT ME AND MY FAMILY CARED FOR. TRUST ME, THIS NURSING EXCELLENCE IS NOT AT RIVERPARK HOSPITAL- HOW COULD IT BE-IT IS A VERY SCARY PLACE!

Hi! I have had 8 surgeries this year in 3 different hospitals across the state! Only 1 of them went better than expected and it was done at River Park. The staff was wonderful, they went above and beyond to assure my comfort and my family's comfort. I have yet to find such kindness and knowledgeable nurses and staff. Not high marks on the food but I was on restrictions so can't tell you how the normal menu is, it may have been me being sick however so please take that with a grain of salt. Everything was very clean and above my expectations.
