I am not going to follow through with making an appointment for my family of 6. The lady on the phone was rude, monotonous, and seemed half asleep at 230pm, telling me she would not even initiate an appointment for any of us until we came and filled out paperwork. I asked if she would send it via email -- she said no we don't do that, she said we do have a fax but we don't like doing that because you cannot read it when it is faxed back. I would rather go somewhere else where people actually seem to enjoy where they work.
I called for a dental appointment and got Lisa, the office manager. The website posting was correct; she really is AWFUL! Although I have a semi-emergency (crown fell out), she wanted me to come in to fill out paperwork. Then only after she processed it at some later time, could I make an appointment. I re-explained that this was a semi-emergency. So she said: 1. that they were on holiday schedule; 2. maybe I should find another dentist; and 3. that they didn’t have any appointments until January anyway. I wouldn’t recommend this dentist to anyone with an office manager / receptionist like that.
I actually really liked Dr. Moss...granted I only had a quick exam on my wisdom teeth and not actual treatment. It was because of their RUDE and PSYCHOTIC office manager that I have discouraged everyone I know from stepping foot into their office! I went in because my wisdom teeth were impacted, he checked them gave me anitbiotics and a script for a few vicodin (literally 10), after referring me to the oral surgeon he gave me 1 refill (I believe it was 12) over a period of almost three weeks. Their office was then closed for an entire week for vacation with no alternate telephone number, after I finished the pain medication which was obviously soon, I could eat nothing but yogurt and tomato soup, I was so miserable and my face was swollen to double the size on my left side. FINALLY when their office opened I called and spoke to Lisa the office manager who straight away told me that I needed to take the antibiotics because that was what was prescribed for pain. Crazy right?! Apparantly office managers get an honorary license to practice dentistry. Then the woman all but called me a junkie and accused me of "seeking medication". Um yeah...I had impacted wisdom teeth I was "seeking" anything I could get to find some relief. I told her that the oral surgeon told me that they could not get me in until a certain date, she said "Would you like me to call them for you?" I specifically told her no I would handle it myself and wanted nothing from her. Well that crazy woman called them anyway against my wishes oh and did I mention she hung up on me. I called that office four times insisting that I be able to leave a message for the dentist so he could advise me of what to do and she refused to allow me to leave a message and flat out told me in a sarcastic voice "Well I'm not going to write it down because he isn't going to call you, see I'm the office manager and everything you say has to go through me and I can assure you he won't get it." THIS IS ACTUALLY WHAT THIS CRAZY WOMAN SAID TO ME!!!! My husband, an active duty soldier, was so upset by the way she spoke to me after hearing her say that he drove all the way up there and that woman did not even have the decency to apologize. She was so satisfied with herself because they got me in the same day to the oral surgeon. Well turns out that was just a consultation and they still couldn't do the surgery until the date they originally told me. The women at the Oral Surgeon's office were so polite and I explained everything to them and the oral surgeon and they couldn't believe I had gone that long with no medicine besides motrin and the dentist had not even set an appointment to see me. I called our insurance United Concordia and filed a complaint, I also filed a complaint with the county, and spoke to the military complaint line for businesses dealing unfairly with service members and their families. Each one of these places could not believe this woman's actions especially my insurance company who opened an investigation into the complaint and said if they valued their contract they better do some retraining or find a new employee. I can't believe someone like this has a job when there are so many POLITE, COURTEOUS, and CARING people who need jobs. All I can say is I would never go there and I hate to see what karma has in store for that you know what!
I've been to Dr Moss for a lot of work, as in, he's drilled on at least half of my teeth. He's the best dentist around here though that I've seen, and the hygienists, and office ladies (not sure if they're hygienists as well) have always been nothing but nice. I was referred there by a friend, and I refer friends there. It's been about two years now since I finished all the major work I had to have, and my teeth still work great. And unlike 'Ibebusiness' said, when you need something that's risky to a tooth he will lay it out, and explain everything, hell, he'll even answer all my inane questions as he does the work! :D And remember folks, people are much more likely to search out a place and write something negative, than positive.
