Dr. Tran is the optometrist associated with this Walmart Vision Center, and I have to be honest, I go to Walmart to save money, and for that reason, I didn't expect much. And yet...Dr. Tran impressed me with the time she spent listening and helping me work out what I needed- better than the high end Dr.s. So, Wow! Here's the thing- I came in wanting contacts. Never had them before, but I hate my glasses. I have split vision so I have to take them off and on all day and usually just leave them off. Contacts were sure to be the cure! So she did a throughout eye exam, then took the time to ask me what environments I am generally in, what things I focus on through out the day...and it seemed that with my nearsightedness and my love of reading all day, wearing contacts would cause me more issues than it would solve. My distance vision would be corrected, but it would affect how I see books and computers close up. but I stubbornly liked the idea, and she supported my decision 100 percent, God Bless her sweet soul, and then she asked me to try a pair of contacts out, go walk around and see how I liked them. It turns out she has the prescriptions already in stock. So I put them in - what a bugger those things are! - and walked around. And decided I didn't hate my glasses so much after all. I couldn't read the prescription on the little contact holder because giving me long distance with contacts fuzzes up the near objects. With my glasses, I would simply lift them up and read what I wanted. Can't do that with contacts. Then I tried to get them out and realized that with my big fingers and my lack of talent in this area, I was going to damage my eyes in a hurry. This is not something I could do on a daily basis. So, she spent a lot of time helping me decide what would TRULY fit my lifestyle, while not deciding for me, and she used a lot of her product ( I also tried the colored contacts) so I could feel confident in my choice. For all the time of hers I used and for all my fickleness, I may not be her favorite person today, but she is certainly mine. This is a top notch optometrist. And the people in the vision center were quiet nice and helpful too.
