First I would like to say that That Dr. Nakken was a great doctor was very polite and fixed my sons broken ankle. As a mom with no health insurance I pay my bills at the end of appointment. I had been in the office and paid my bill at the end of each visit. It has been 2 years and I get a call from a collection agency stating that I owed $210.00 to Southern UT Orthopedics I had not Idea what they were talking about since I never got a bill from them and I pay my bills at the end of each visit. So I called the lady that handles payments and explained to her that I had not got any bills from her and that I had no Idea that I had a balance at the office. Long story short they had my address wrong so I had never received any bills I understand but they did have my correct phone number and at no time did they ever call me to let me know that I still had a balance on my account. The lady I spoke with did not care that they had turned it over to a collections office and that it has now hit by credit over $210.00 and now I have a negative rating because of a bill I had no Idea that I had. I asked if she would please contact them on my behalf and explain what had happened and maybe they could adjust this so that it did not go against my credit. She would absolutely not do anything she would not contact them she would not do anything. I understand mistakes happen and I understand that I did owe the money who ever is to blame rather it be me or them. I did not know I owed any money and as a Customer I would think that they would try and call before they turn something over to a collections office and if they understand that someone made a mistake that they would try and fix this mistake. It was only $210.00! As far as the doctor he is a amazing doctor and for his staff not so good. I feel like I was treated poorly because I did not pay my bill that I had no Idea I even owed any money on. I am very upset about this and feel like they should as a business try and make this right but the lady in his office told me that it was out of her hands and that she would not do anything about it. As far as the Collection agency they had my phone number and called me and I paid the bill and they had my correct address how the doctors office had the wrong address I don't understand. But they have my correct information now but I will not be using this office again.
