I recently moved to Utah and was looking for a new eye Dr. I chose UVEC because on the website in the overview it specifically says, "We treat patients in eye care specialties including routine eye exams, cataract surgery, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic care, adult strabismus... For a routine eye exam it took 2 hours. I spent a lot of time by myself in the exam room or rushed out to wait in a waiting area while my eyes dilated so they could use the room I was in for another patient. I also had to take the tests on the machines TWICE because they were not organized and lost my first results. I will say the Dr. was nice but he never asked me if I had any questions and seemed to be in a hurry to leave the room after he did the exam. I did have questions about strabismus(which I know I have) and he did not answer them and sent someone to get me a paper with a referral to another Dr. I also was not asked if I wanted glasses(which I did). When I went to the front desk and asked about glasses there, they told me to go to the other side of the room and talk to someone over there. I waited and no one acknowledged me so I left. I was completely mad and upset when I left. Will not be returning nor will I ever refer anyone.

The Doctors at Utah Valley Eye Center are kind, caring and the epitome of professionalism. They have cared for my family's vision for more than forty years. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my eye care. They have provided me with contact lenses and perfect prescription glasses. I'll admit that when Dr. Cook retired I wondered how well they would continue to carry the torch. Dr. Cook was a close family friend. He graduated from the same high school as my wife. He also took careful care of me after her death. I'm happy to say that his successors are carrying the torch with olympic-winning excellence. On my last visit Dr. Michael J. Lloyd thoroughly tested my eyes to ascertain their current health. He carefully explained why he was doing each procedure and concluded that it was unnecessary to issue a new prescription for me because he sincerely felt I did not need one.. At the age of 68, with the prospect of cataract surgery somewhere in my future, I'm so glad I can count on Dr. Lloyd and the Eye Center staff to give me the best possible vision for years to come..

Terrible visit. The entire appointment took 2 hrs to complete. 2 hrs for a simple eye exam that told me absolutely nothing. I had come in because I was experiencing eye pain and reoccurring headaches. The doctor gave me a routine eye exam and told me that my prescription needed to be slightly tweaked (I found out through a different doctor that my issues were the cause of migraines). I was not asked if I had any questions or other concerns. I was asked if I want contacts, several times. No, I dont. I understand this is where you make your money at but if you want to make me comfortable enough to return, then please make sure I feel justified for having come in for a visit in the first place. The doctor did nothing to reassure my concerns for constant headaches and vision problems. If you had taken time to investigate you would've helped me come to the conclusion that I have migraines, which I later had diagnosed by a different doctor. During my 2 hr appointment, I heard several office women outside walking around, just laughing and cutting up. I opened the door to see where my doctor was (because I had been waiting for him off and on) and no one asked if I needed help or if everything was okay. They just kept walking by. If a door that is usually closed becomes open and someone sticks their head out, they are probably seeking assistance. But instead, you passed me by. Passing by is exactly what I plan to do to this office the next time I need an eye exam.

Was very simple for me as a new customer to set up an appointment, fill out the paperwork, and get in with a very short wait. I liked how they walked me through each step of what they were doing and felt like everyone was very professional. I felt comfortable and in touch throughout the appointment. They also let me know how to save money and take better care of my eyes. I would recommend them to anyone.

It's a nice facility with short wait times and friendly staff. Dr. Bird is friendly, easy to understand and talk to, and straight forward.
