I cannot speak to the skill and demeanor of the dentist, but I have never been so poorly treated by an Office Manager in my life, and that is not hyperbole. I had to call to reschedule my son's first appointment with this office because he has severe environmental allergies that often times will flare up and keep him from being able to attend school, sporting events, etc. I spoke with a member of the front office staff who was very pleasant. At this particular time, I was told that I would need to produce a note from a doctor's office stating he was too ill to attend his dentist appointment. I told them he would not be attending the doctor today as he attended urgent care the day before, but I could send them the note that he received to excuse him from school. I was then told they wouldn't be able to accept that, and would not be able to take my son as a patient AT ALL unless he kept his 2pm appointment. I then asked to speak with the office manager so I could look into the reasoning behind such a strict and inflexible scheduling policy. This man was rude. I am a hard person to anger, but he treated me from the first moment as a hostile customer in spite of my demeanor and calm inquiries. He told me that they saw kids with allergies all the time and that my son needed to keep his appointment, and he raised his voice as he was telling me this. I informed him of the degree of my son's allergies, and that even the school system understood, and he was unmoved. He continually interrupted me, referred to his staff as "my girls" which signaled to me a distinct lack in professionalism, and kept speaking to me as if I were an insolent child trying to break the house rules. I work for a nationally traded company in a large office building with a huge staff, and we serve over 10,000 employees companywide. I would never dream of speaking to someone the way this man spoke to me. I really do feel sorry for the nice women I spoke to earlier, as I imagine they have to deal with his staggering lack of professionalism on a daily basis. My son has dental insurance, I have a good job, and we will be taking our years of future dental work and braces elsewhere.
