Danny Paul - December 26, 2014

While on the road to NY, my wife was feeling shortness of breath, pains and discomfort all over her body, mostly in her chest and back. She was unable to retrieve her purse if set on the ground. Note: we were 300 miles from home in NC. We both felt urgent care was needed and now. The facility was well staffed, friendly but professional. I was surprised just how well the facility was equipped. An x-ray with a caring tech was accomplished, as well as the EKG tech, putting my wife as ease. What was what I thought was going to be a "Doc in a Box" was anything but. This is a class A operation. Additionally The report was very detailed. I didn't have to ask for the EKG, reports, they were gladly given to us, as well the dvd of the x-ray. This facility has my highest respect and admiration. Bottom line. My wife had pneumonia. After two injections, the doctor told us, get her home do not go further. 5 1/2 hours later she was laying in bed. Dr Jones, you and your caring staff are to be commended on a "Job well Done" very well done. Thank you. Mr. Danny Paul

4 out of 5 members of my family have gone to MedExpress. We found the staff friendly and knowledgeable. No billing or insurance issues. One of the times I went the doctor said it would be best to go to the ER and refunded my copay before I left. It was not close to closing time.

We called ahead of time to ask if our son could be evaluated, we were told yes. So we loaded our 18 month old into the car and took him to the location. First we were told by reception that there was a problem with his insurance and that we could just pay cash, while on hold with insurance company reception was pushing to get payment. After insurance issues were resolved we went to nursing station for weight, height, and questions for purpose of visit. Shuttled off to waiting room for Dr., Dr comes in and says go to ER, did not even look at him. And why were we told to come to the Urgent Care again? Staff member at ER apologized to me for their approach and said it was not something new, I was not being singled out. He said it was close to closing time there first of all so they probably wanted me out quickly, and secondly why not collect some money instead of just telling me over the phone they are closing go to the ER or any infant head related injuries should go directly to ER. I was told also that if I was referred by Hospital affiliated urgent care I would have been given a FULL REFUND. Go to Hospital affiliated urgent care! Staff was friendly so they get One star and only one due to highly unethical services.

**EDIT** Thanks to the power of social media, someone from corporate did finally call me and agree to refund the monies taken from my account. It doesn't help with the overdraft fees that have now accumulated, but at least someone caring did finally take the time to hear me out, understand the situation they put me in and attempt to do something about it. I want to be clear that the reason I am giving a low rating is due to the billing practices and lack of information. I have found the clinical staff to be very caring and very good. However, I went to Med Express with a gashed finger that required stitches. The young man who checked me in asked for a credit card to put on file. He explained that I would be notified before any monies were taken from the account. He also said that if I could not make the payment when notified I could cancel it. I never received any type of notification before $xx was taken from my account on a Saturday. Today, Monday, I have spoken with the local office, and two different people at their outside billing office. No one is willing to take responsibility or do anything about it. So now I will have an overdraft fee due to their inability to follow their own rules. Also, as much as the front desk staff tries to tell you this is a mandatory thing, which is easy to believe when you are bleeding profusely, but it's not. Do not give them any type of card to have on file, it's a convenience pay OPTION. Cover your butt if you decide to go. AS for me, I won't be back. The emergency room is cheaper in the long run.

Excellent place to go. Staff is great and Virginia Lapp went above and beyond to be sure I was taken care of. I definitely recommend the place and especially her !
