Fusion Studio Yoga and Holstic Therapy
Reviews
Getting to know Katy and learning & practicing at Fusion Studio has been a life-changing experience. Her style of yoga and teaching is first and foremost, fun and exhilarating, but it is also invigorating, challenging, deep and soulful, while staying light and approachable. It is easy to get carried away in the moment while under her lead, helping you and your body go to places you never would have believed you could go. I’m truly amazed at what I have been able to accomplish since meeting her. Many people have commented on my posture and demeanor being noticeably changed. Unlike any other studio I’ve practiced in, Katy takes the time to explain not only the how of a posture, but the why as well, explaining which postures increase energy or heat, which decreases them, and why, which chakra(s) are effected, which bandha(s) to engage. If you truly wish to expand your knowledge of the history of yoga, pranayama (yogic breathing), meditation, the usage of mudra’s, and multiple traditions of yoga, I strongly recommend Katy. She spends time to ensure you’re safe and postures are effective, while doing a wonderful job of challenging you to safely explore your limits. She does this, not only with words, but she is deceptively strong and has expanded my practice though hands on assists, as some times words just get through to me well enough !! Katy’s drive and desire to be the most complete, knowledgeable, and dutiful yogi she can be works to the great benefit of all of her students. She is continually studying, immersing herself in her craft and passion, the scope of her knowledge is very impressive and her eagerness to learn more and share it with others is inspiring. While she is certified in Kripalu yoga, but she has introduced me and many, many others to Bikram, Yoga Nidra, Kundalini, Ashtangha, and Anyosara, just to name what comes to the top of my head. All of the wonderful things I’ve said about her yoga practice can be said about her bodywork too, she has multiple certifications in massage and bodywork, she is a self-proclaimed “anatomy geek” and it shows her vast knowledge of the human body and how both she, and her client can work to heal or maintain it in a healthy way. Multiple times, during bodywork or during class she has broken out Grey’s Anatomy or other paperwork to illustrate her point, great for visual people like me! Again, all of the things I’ve said above can be said about her knowledge of the Aryuvedic tradition and the maintenance and healing of the body through careful analysis and mindful practice. I’ve had deep and moving experiences in her studio, and I’ve also giggled like a child numerous times. I am truly grateful for having met her.
