Fred Meyer
Reviews
I used to live north of Battle Ground and had this as my closest one. I noticed when other Fred Meyers are out of stock on certain items, this one always seems to have it, especially with high demand items like the Wii when it first came out and they hadn't made enough, or video games and books when they are sold out at every other store, this one seems to consistently have them. Now that I no longer live in Battle Ground, I find that it's worth the extra driving to go to this one if I'm looking for something specific.
I shop at Fred Meyer every week. Each week I go to the Deli counter to purchase meat and cheese. It is the MOST PAINFUL process. First you have to wait for someone to assist you. This could take a while even if you are the only one standing out front. They are all in the back "cooking" & talking while you wait. When they finally came out to help me they were not happy when I asked them to custom slice turkey and roast beef. Their response was we have it already sliced in a smaller thickness in our case; I said no thanks I wanted it cut fresh and at my desired thickness. Last time I checked I was the customer. When you look in their sliced meat and cheese case you can tell it was not sliced fresh that day as advertised. If you look at the cheese the edges are hard and curled. After almost 5 years of shopping at this store the Deli Counter never changes. The other areas of the store are great, whatever you need that get it to you with a smile. I have started looking for other options. I don't think I am asking for the moon..just some sliced turkey and roast beef. It's not rocket science its simply providing customer service. Last time I checked customer sales paid their wages
Undoubtedly my favorite Battle Ground store! They've always got everything a person needs, at prices everyone has got to love! Go Freddies!
Reviews written in a moment of vengeful exasperation may help people feel that they "did something" about a perceived injustice, but every transaction takes patience, humanity, courtesy, and forgiveness of human error on BOTH sides. Our Freds, like our Safeway, Albertsons, and the other stores, restaurants, and other newer businesses in Battle Ground, is a great addition to our community. The employees there, mostly BG citizens and folks from the outlying areas, do their human best. We start making a better world one human interaction at a time. Model patience, courtesy, and consideration, and it influences others to do the same.
