A Healthy Risk Counseling Center
Reviews
This place should change their name from "A Healthy Risk" to "A Financial Risk". I came to them for intensive outpatient drug/alcohol treatment and over the 6 months I was there all they did was have us sit quietly by ourselves for an hour and then they would either stick in a movie which was most of the time or they would have a so called chemical dependency counselor read out of some generic recovery text book. Not only did I learn absolutely nothing about sobriety, they were completely all about money! They were way more concerned about how they were gonna get payed and how to scam you out of as much money as possible. Terri the woman who does the insurance is totally inept at doing her job and has no desire to help you understand your insurance and instead spends more of her time figuring how much she get you to pay out of pocket by lying and saying your insurance won't cover this and that and when I called to verify what she had said my insurance company told me they have never spoken with her and everything she told me was false. Also my insurance company told me that they were scamming me by telling me if I miss more than ONE day the insurance company won't pay for it which was a total lie and just a way for them to make more money. At my last Dr.'s visit my Dr. told me that they haven't been sending him the monthly reports he needs and told me to hand deliver them. When I went in to get this paperwork they told me my insurance wasn't going to cover their program anymore (they knew this for about 6 months and didn't tell me) and that I can't come back. When I asked for the reports they told me they can't work for me for free and that they were not gonna take the 5-10 minutes to copy them since they weren't gonna get paid for those 5-10 minutes. These people are all awful except for Miguel who is really nice and the only decent one out of the bunch. The guy who owns the place (Troy) is a crazy evangelic and is pretty pushy with it. Stay away from A Healthy Risk and go somewhere where the people actually care about you and your recovery.
