Major personality conflict. I was suppose to attend the first seminar with my husband. Fine and dandy. Whatever. His receptionist, Angie, I think was her name, Greets my husband and then myself. (she already knew my name, because once again, i was suppose to be there as " support " for my husband)She hands us each a pamphlet. Mine was the same one my husband brought home two day prior on "Sublaxation". His was on insurance. At that point, we are instructted to go sit down and read these laminated pamphlets because (as she is pointing to my husband) that there is going to be a "TEST" on his pamphlet. Since when do you have to take a test when all you want done is to have your back feel better!. So, here is where I ask my first question. Why do I have to be here? " The doctor will explain that to you" REALLY? Whatever. Okay, so the class starts. Doc comes out, starts the class. First off, he says to save questions for the end because I want to get through this because I have a family I want to get home to. But guess what, doc, so do I. i ask the question anyway about why I have to be there. ( now, mind you, I have to find a sitter so I can go "support " my husband).. His reply: " I'll get to that later. Really? Whatever. Which he informed us that since, we were the only ones who showed up, we could ask questions. Generous, huh? So,I start asking questions. We ( him and I) start getting into a heated debate. He referred to it as his "PASSION" I referred to it as out-right arrogant and rude. Fast forward: I stayed to "support" my husband. An hour and a half later, I finally find out the answer to the question, which at that point, I already knew. He wants me to become a patient also. Which if we signed up for CHUSA For a fee of $39.00, and for ever other family member we can get up to a 70 percent discount if we were to bring in our family of 4. Then we are suppose to pass on this information to our neighbors or other family (now this info is all the info we learned that night) because it's "our duty" that if we are feeling so good from "his" therapy" we owe it to others to give them the same opportunity. IS HE SERIOUS!?!? Then, as he also informed us, that was his longest seminar so far because of all the question. WHATEVER. ........I could write way more about my first experience with this guy, Dr. Michael Thompson, but nothing I have to say is good. I did tell my husband that I would support him, if he wanted to go back because I was the one who had problem with this doctor, not him. And what the person who posted the first comment said, is exactly the same as our experience...except we were able to get out before we got duped. For my husband changed his mind. I wish we would have read the first posters comment first. but even though some may disagree with me, Growing up hearing the term " QUACK" used for chiropractor, Dr. Michael Thompson, Fits The Bill! No pun intended, and If I ever asked about him, I will tell them the same thing I posted.........................Michelle Steege
RIPOFF! In my naivete, I bought into their scheme & signed a contract. Thank god I didn't sign for what they were asking everyone else for however! Due to my financial status, I signed up for the $150/ mo plan. When I signed up, I was told it was 3x/wk for 3 mos, 2x/wk for 3 mo, 1x/wk for 3 mos, & the last 3 mos, 2x/mo.I did the math, & it seemed like a good deal. After the first 3 months, they cut me down to 2x/mo and said they would charge me extra if I came in any more than that. ($50 to $100 per session.) When averaged, this is $36 per session, same as anyone else in town! My pain that was initially going away with 3x/week is back and I am stiffer than I was in the mornings before I started! When I hit financial difficulties and couldn't afford the $150 a month anymore and wanted to quit, he threatened to send me to collections. He said I might as well keep coming because I'm going to end up paying for it all anyways. I can't believe they swindle other people out of $4000 - $6000! They also make you "buy into" Maximized Living crap - which is another $25 book I did not want, some "home exercise equipment" that, if they would have filed insurance, it would have covered, but instead cost me another $250 out of pocket. And, they "strongly suggest" you go to all these other little seminars, charging a cover for each, that they put on. HORRIBLE! DO NOT GO HERE!
