Jasper Avenue Dental

I've been seeing Dr. Nguyen for the past few years. He's the best dentist I've seen in my lifetime. He's extremely knowledgeable, careful, and caring. He saved one of my teeth from a root canal with a serious filing. There isn't much tooth left, but he managed to make it work and the tooth has been problem free for a couple of years now. I just asked him about veneers and while most dentists would jump at the chance to make some cosmetic dentistry money, he gave me all the details about the risks, how long they would last, and why they might not be a good option for my teeth. He truly cares about helping his patients with the best dental care that's right for them. The dental hygienists here are also excellent. I just saw Helen and she was so gentle that I almost fell asleep. Stark contrast to some hygienists I have seen in the past that we're the opposite of gentle. I went through a few different dental offices in Edmonton before I found Jasper Ave dental, and I'm glad I can stop searching now. I'm sure that Dr. Nguyen is the best dentist in Edmonton.

Had $1000 for the year for dental insurance. Went in wanting just to speak to dentist about my dental options and what I could do with what my insurance covered. I was told I needed to have an x-ray before the dentist could see me, and was then given a $250 panoramic x-ray. Dr. Nguyen arrived with a full treatment plan of all the work I needed done totaling just over $5000 in price and told me I needed get this work done and find the money any way possible. I told him I only had $1000 in insurance money, which didnt cover root canals and that was all I had to work with. He continued to pressure me into somehow coming up with $5000 dollars and then told me he didn't have time to discuss it all day. We had been talking for less than 15 minutes by that point. I agreed to be signed up for a cleaning, only to find out during the cleaning that it would cost me about $400. The hygienist then told me about how I "needed" a $100 dollar electric tooth brush. So basically nearly all my insurance money for the year gone in two visits, with no dental work of any kind to show for it. I took my $250 dollar x-rays and went elsewhere.

Go here if you like wasting money on "high ceilings", "flatscreen tv's" and "convenient location". This is apparently the reason my simple check-up and cleaning came to over $550.
