Littleton Radiation and Medical Oncology
Reviews
I'd like to share the following so others may consider treatment by Dr. Schreiber and his staff at Littleton Radiation Oncology in Colorado. I was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma on at least a 3 by 4 inch area of my neck, visibly near my ear, running in a random way towards the back. My dermatologist is really very good and recommended the Mohs surgery treatment. The affected area was quite large but was non-uniform in shape and depth. A great amount of my neck would be carved out with skin grafts a necessity; quite an ugly outcome. I found Dr. Schreiber through a radio ad which promised to be an alternative. So, I made the appointment on his web site. And, guess what ? Dr. Schreiber personally called me at work the very next day. Evidently, all prospective patients are screened so that they can withstand the radiation treatment (there are many options) and whether that is the best treatment available, including my dermatologist's plan. I was examined and evaluated, then approved for a modified electron therapy lasting 34 treatments. Dr. Schreiber seemed to have a sixth sense for the nature of my cancer as he probed in an almost sensory way; amazing. He was compassionate and thorough, yet at the same time, evaluating my situation and the multitudes of therapy available. Great start but how will it go ? Very promising considering the Dr.'s impressive credentials and the vast array of radiation machines and other therapies to treat cancer in a non-invasive way (look at the Littleton Radiation Oncology web site; it is REAL). So, I scheduled my treatment which started out as a "sim" that customizes the treatment to your condition. This involves a lengthy configuration of the cancer target and the programming of the chosen machine and the planning of the technicians' activity to be executed upon each treatment, which is choreographed, practiced and recorded. One week later, the simulation is programmed and finalized and your treatment begins with amazing attention to detail and team precision. Then, I started the treatments which included a nurse visit and a Dr. visit each week to evaluate progress to address any concerns. This was done in conjunction with the treatments and not a separate appointment. The patient's time is a valuable commodity to Dr. Schreiber and his staff. I received my treatments in a timely fashion (usually early and out within 10 minutes). When have you had a medical appointment on time or early ? The staff (radiation technologists, administrative, billing, etc.) are VERY kind, compassionate and technically competent. They are the core of the cancer center's success. The technicians rotate on occasion but the level of care and caring is the same. I felt as though they were my friends (and still do). The insurance billing staff is extremely committed to keep out of pocket expenses for the patient at a minimum, with repeated submissions as necessary. Amazing technology and GREAT, compassionate people and fantastic results ! Give yourself, your loved ones and/or your friends with a cancer diagnosis an alternative chance to survive and thrive. If Dr. Schreiber determines his treatment is not the best for you, he will find the best elsewhere. I am a very good judge of character and honesty; I trust Dr. Schreiber and I believe you will too. Even if you are not in the Denver area or even outside Colorado, Dr. Schreiber may be the answer.
Until I turned 65, I could count on one hand the number of times I've been to a doctor. Then....When I turned 68 I found out I had prostate cancer. Due to my lack of medical experience, I thought the end was near. Then I met Dr. Schreiber and his staff. They made me feel very comfortable and we went ahead with the Radiation Seeding in November, 2011. Today, I am 2 years cancer free and I'm still being treated just like the first visit. When I go to see Dr. Schreiber, I don't feel like I'm making his car payment. I believe he cares deeply about every one of his patients. I have mentioned his name and what he does to several of my customers who are about to undergo cancer treatment. I'm not the type of person who would do that sort of thing. Thank you again, The staff at Radiation Oncology and Dr. Schreiber.
I felt fine. So I was stunned when I got a prostate cancer diagnosis at my annual physical. I was not ready for this, and I did not know how to handle it. But I was lucky that Dr Tippin, and subsequently Dr Schreiber, were the ones who helped me through the process. They were always thoughful and thorough. At one appointment, I ran into a gentleman who was traveling all the way from Fort Collins for treatment. I asked him why he was not going somewhere more convenient for him. His reply: "Why would I want to see anyone but the best?" He was right. Both doctors and their entire supporting staff are indeed the best. Oh, and by the way - - Thank You.
My dad was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer several years ago and recently (mothers day) we were all together as a family just so happy and I realized that my dad was alive thanks to Littleton Radiation Oncology. My dad received a treatment that only took 1 day and I am happy to say with in a few weeks of the treatment he was back to hiking and biking. He has always been an outdoor enthusiast. He reminded us he might not be here today if it were not for Dr. Schreiber. I just wanted to take a moment and thank the entire staff at Littleton Radiation Oncology for treating my dad - the entire staff was amazing.
My dad was diagnosed with prostrate cancer. He has been with Dr. Tippin doing the entire healing processing. What a genuine doctor and man. The family has been very fortune to have been referred to the Littleton Radiation Oncology Center. The attention that he has received during this process from the staff at the surgery center, to the nursers and Dr. Tippin has been amazing. I would highly recommend them all to you. Thanks to everyone for all of your assistance. It has been greatly appreciated.
