The techs and front desk staff are great. However, the billing department is utterly incompetent. If you need radiology services, stay far away from this company unless you are prepared to spend 6 months of your life (or more) dealing with billing staff who repeatedly fail to file with the insurance company despite a call from the insurance company! The billing department promises to file and then doesn't follow through. The issue has gone to collections and although I paid it IN FULL (while waiting for insurance to receive the claim that was never sent), they never bothered to report to collections that this had been satisfied. Now collections is putting it on my credit report -- for a paid bill that I never should have had to pay in the first place, if only American Radiology would send the bill to my insurance company. This business is horrible. I am appalled when I think about all the truly sick people who pass through their doors and then get this incredibly poor customer service from the back office. If only I could give them less than one star.

Don't use them if you have a John Hopkins doctor or if your doctor requires seeing the actual images they take. (They will fax a copy of the report upon request.) It doesn't matter whose fault it is, when you can't get images done in a timely matter you've wasted your time and health and the doctor's time. After multiple attempts over days my doctor was unable to get the images electronically from them. ARS refused to mail a CD or DVD to my doctor and it takes days before I can pick them up myself (2 full business days + weekend). That defeated the purpose of going "close to home". So now I have to mail them or drive an hour to my doctor's office. I will not use them again and do not recommend them. My general impression is that you are a widget on a conveyor belt. Front desk personnel appear competent. Techs in back texting on their phones and didn't appear to be working. Tech assumes you've had an MRI before and didn't look me over to ensure all metal was removed or ask about items that could easily be missed by a person. Other than that, they seemed to be o.k.
