Bass Lake Family Eye Care

I set up my initial eye exam to get new contacts after going a couple years without wearing them. My initial screening was done by a young girl who looked to be 15 years old. She had to still be in High School and definitely not a trained professional. At the end of the exam I was sent home with 30 days worth of contacts and a new pair of glasses. A few months later when I called to purchase more contacts I was told I need to pay an additional “contact fitting” fee because the doctor did not do so the first visit. I have worn contacts in the past and was fitted the first appointment I went to. I will be taking my vision needs elsewhere. I would recommend finding a more highly professional staff and a place that keeps up on records of past visits.
I can partially agree with the previous review about the younger staff doing the initial eye screenings. I never felt that them not being professionals was putting my eyes at risk or anything--afterall the eye doctor looks at your eyes physically with as much detail as any other place I've been to. As for the previous review regarding the contact eye coverages and exams--we all should know by now how silly of a game this can seem and is at times--its the same as our health coverages--you need to know how everything works under your vision plans if we have them and the silly contact fitting fees and everything else exist everywhere. But it is as much our responsibility to keep our eye exams updated just as much as anyone elses. My only complaint for this facility and hence the 4/5 star rating is that my eyeglasses have been backordered three times now and i am yet to hear back about the current status. I understand that vendors can fall short of expectations, but some more timely updates would have been nice. Great customer service in the store for glasses purchase and friendly staff.
I had a great experience at Bass Lake Family Eye Care. Very professional staff and doctor, fun and laid back atmosphere, and they really helped me pick out my first eye glasses; which would have taken forever on my own.
