Fall Creek Family Dentistry: Kapur Kristna DDS
Reviews
I'm done with this practice. I used to think it was adequate but not any more. Dr Kapur doesn't care anymore. She came in an hour late for the first appt of the day and then proceeded to discuss with her assistant the party she had been to that night. A small filling was needed but she keep drilling and drilling and drilling all the while paying me no attention and talking about the party. I ended up with a HUGE filling. And not only that, but she filled it way to much and I had to have it reduced several times. After all that, I am left with an unusable tooth. Still can't chew, can't bite, and is extremely cold sensitive .. a year later. Heading to another dentist for evaluation. Fearing I'll now need a root canal.
Fall Creek Family Dentistry is a fine dental office. They are very friendly and knowledgeable, and have always provided me with thorough and professional service at a reasonable price. To those of you who are writing bad reviews because your tooth hurts after a filling: your tooth hurts because you need a root canal! Dentists can't always tell if there is an infection at the root when they fill a tooth, and their only choices are to (1) give you a root canal anyway even though you may not need it, or (2) just fill it, and wait to see if you need a root canal. Personally, I'd rather wait and see...
Crooked, incompetent, should not be allowed to practice dentistry. Destroyed two teeth that were perfectly fine, took all my dental insurance money, would not admit to causing problems, would not fix problems or give money back, and then tried to sick their insurance agent on me when they got scared. Made a totally incompetent bridge, after the assistant made the worst temporary ever. I got a serious infection in the bone in my jaw. Had to have two emergency root canals (elsewhere) b/c of Kapur's work. Dr. Kapur was distracted while working on me, talking to assistant, taking phone calls in the middle of drilling, and so on. I got the feeling she had no idea what she was doing. She dismissed my horrible pain completely. All other dental professionals who have seen what Dr. Kapur did to me have been horrified. I don't know what is wrong with Dr. Kapur but something serious. Do they have real dentistry licenses? Has anyone checked? Also like other patients they tried to order unecessary, expensive "panoramic" xrays on me.
I believe this dental practice is crooked. This is not an overstatement. My own personal experience is that a hygienist there essentially tricked me into having unnecessary xrays done. The hygienist told me that I would not be charged for the xrays. I asked her if she was sure, because if she wasn't, I would not get the xrays done (I had had the same xrays completed by another dentist within a couple years; my old xrays were still valid). She assured me that I would not have to pay. Yet, I soon got a bill from them for the xrays. Because I had already had the xrays completed, I did not need the xrays. But tricking me into getting them done, allowed the practice to make money, and I am convinced that that is all these people are concerned with. Of course, though the practice had already effectively robbed my insurance company for the xrays I did not need, they refused to refund me the money they took from me. Only later did I speak with other Ithacans about the practice, and I then learned that the place has a reputation for being dishonest. I was told stories about the dentists completing unnecessary procedures, presumably so that they could bill the insurance company. I, in fact, experienced the same thing. At the visit described above, I was told I had cavities that needed to be filled. After being tricked into getting the xray work, I of course refused to go back there. I went back to my old dentist, who I had only left for insurance reasons. My old dentist, who is known to be quite honest, told me that I did not in fact have any cavities. He asked me who diagnosed the cavities, and when I told him, he told me to stay away from them; they were known to be crooked. If you do not want to be ripped off, I suggest you stay away from this place!
Unethical, irresponsible, negligent, incompetent, rude, and nasty are the words that come to mind when thinking of Dr. Kapur. According to my new dentist, she unnecessarily filled a tooth that didn't need a filling, and she ignored a tooth that ending up abscessing and needed to be pulled. My new dentist says that had Dr. Kapur paid attention to the tooth in trouble, I could have saved my tooth. She really should have her license revoked.
