Office manger does not have a clue what insurance they actually are signed up with! We had no dental insurance so I tried to buy a policy. I took a copy of the policy to them to be sure they accepted it and after she assured me they did, I signed up and bought the policy. Months later we found out they are NOT signed up with that particular plan so all our claims were denied. We spent over $500 for a yearly dental insurance policy and then they turned around and charged us full price for all the dental work so that was another $600. Wauseon Dental Group would not even agree to reduce our bill, even though they gave us bad information about the insurance that doubled our cost. Their bills are a joke also. They just send an "account balance" statement with no patient names, no dates of service, no payment instructions. Very unprofessional! I had to request an itemized bill just to understand what they were billing me for. Always a different dentist. I have not seen Dr. Pelok in years. They hire in other dentists to take his place so you never know who will actually check your teeth. Just to be clear, this bad review is for Wauseon Dental Group and it's office manager. I have not had a bad experience with Dr. Pelok himself. I agree, save yourself some time and trouble and look elsewhere!
Nightmare: Horrible bedside manner resulted in half day of work missed and referral to another dentist. The smallest measure of reassurance from either the doctor or his assistant would have helped a very frightened seven year old girl. Instead, the staff expressed exasperation and were scolding. After three minutes, they gave up and referred me to another dentist. Save yourself some time and trouble and look elsewhere.
