Too long of a wait not worth it. At least an hour every visit. Hate it!

I went to the Wellness Pointe-Longview back in August of 2011 for a cleaning and extraction. The evaluation and cleaning went great but boy when it got the extraction it was horrible!!! I chose them because they offered a sliding scale for low-income individuals or people without insurance. The evaluation and cleaning went great but boy when it came to the extraction it was a horrible experience!!! The doctor (older gentlemen w/glasses) numbed the area and told me to inform the nurse when I felt my lower lip tingle then become numb…….it never happened and he still decided to proceed with the procedure. I FELT EVERYTHING!! When I told him that it hurt he was like “ooh that’s just pressure”, and I was like, NO, pressure and pain are two different feelings. He attempted to numb it some more and it didn’t help. He finally got the extraction out after a little too much tugging and pulling….they gave me a discount because he didn’t perform the extraction correctly. A couple of weeks later my friend went to them and had the same dentist and he went thru the same thing with the lack of numbness and the doctor pulling his tooth incorrectly. I would advise anyone to just save up and go to someone who cares more that you’re comfortable and knows what they’re doing.

Speaking as someone who has had to go to this clinic numerous times over the last few years (they're one of the few that accept Medicaid or charge according to your income) this is the worst place I've had to deal with, by FAR. Because the majority of their patients are only covered by Medicaid, the Dr.'s are average at best and the rest of the staff either doesn't know what they are talking about or doesn't care. To have to talk to someone over the phone is a nightmare; EVERY time you call they either don't answer, and you leave a message that is never returned, or you have the pleasure of speaking to someone who is either doing something more important while they are talking to you as the entire conversation consists of them repeatedly asking you questions you've already given the answer to, or just too dumb/aloof to have a simple back and forth with another with another human being. Then, if they can't help, lucky you gets transferred to someone else who doesn't answer the phone so you just keep getting routed back to the same person who doesn't know anything until they finally hang up on you. Fun!
