Jacqueline Carney PC

Dr. Carney and her staff are professional and courteous but more than that they really care about the individual needs of their patients. A dibilitating fear of coupled with fibromyalgia makes dental care a nightmare that I have avoided for nearly a decade. I explained my concerns and my needs to her and she assured me she would do everything she could to ensure a postivie experience. Dr. Carney consulted her peers to ensure that my pain management for a mulitple tooth extraction would prevent chronic pain from my condition to keep me down for weeks as it has in the past and helped me make it through the procedure without the typical trauma I would normally have experienced. The extraction, while more difficult that anticipated, was far less painful than I could ever have imagined because of the care and steps she took to minimize my discomfort. I am truly amazed and so grateful for the experience and won't hesitate to go back to have my dental needs taken care of by Dr. Carney and her staff. She took extensive proactive measures, followed up with me to be sure I was healing well and treated me with such compassion and care. I am sure there are dentists in Virginia that are quite competant and skilled at what they do. However, I have never heard of a practitioner in any field that cares as much for her patients as Dr. Carney and her team. I still hate dentistry but I don't hate the dentist. any more.
My son had an extra fluoride treatment that wasn't covered by insurance. I was billed for this and thought it was a cross in the mail since I knew my insurance covered fluoride...not realizing he had one 10 months prior but still in the same calendar year. The bill was sent to collections and when I got a notification of that, I researched it with my insurance company, realized what had happened and then paid it. Now this dental practice is refusing to EVER provide service to my son again...including the orthodontics I had scheduled him for a $38 oversight that I paid, along with an extra $87 for the collections cost...and they refuse to ever see him again. Obviously, the founder of children's dentistry of charlottesville believes in "one strike and you're out" as an acceptable customer service policy. Very poor policy that speaks to the character, or lack thereof, of the principals of this dentist practice.
