I have been a client going back to 2000. I have spent over $6000 of my own funds at Dr Wallace's Office in the past 1.5 years. Things were fine at first. Recently, early in the day of New Years Eve I started experiencing major dental pain. I called Dr Wallace's office and they gave his home # as he was on call. I called him early in the day on Dec 31, no return call. I called back in the afternoon and his outgoing message listed a cell #. I left another message and then called right back to get the cell # when I had pen & paper. This time it went to a different voice mail message leading me to believe that he was getting the message I just left. Still no return call. I called again Jan 1st and finally spoke to Dr Wallace and explained my situation clearly to him. I informed him of my severe pain with both top and bottom teeth as well as my extreme heat sensitivity. The two other dentists I saw both said those symptoms are classic root canal symptoms and he should have picked up on that. I asked him to refill my prescriptions for amoxicillin and Percocet to help with the infection and manage my severe pain until I could be seen in their office. The same two prescriptions I obtained from their office on Dec 5th for the exact same dental issue. He refused to fill them. He said "the biggest tragedy would be for him to loose his right to write scripts". I informed him he had a duty to either treat me in his office or else give me the scripts I needed to make in until I could be seen by them after the holiday. Again, he refused. He also did not return any of my subsequent calls. He left me hanging for over 5 days in severe pain. The end result is that I haven't slept in 7 days because of this severe pain. I decided if he was so selfish and self centered as to not see a client in agony or at least write the scripts I needed then I needed a new dentist. When picking up my records I confronted him on his behavior and he literally laughed in my face and said I did not need medicine. My new dentist quickly determined that I needed a root canal. I had already made several trips to the ER to obtain both medicines I needed and thus incurred medical bills which would have cost me nothing if he would have simply written the scripts for me. Additionally, every time Dr Wallace drilled in my mouth I was white knuckling the chair in agony. When Dr Rediske drilled, no pain what so ever. If you must go there, hope that you get Dr Rediske who is very professional and understanding. In fact when the same exact issue arose on Dec 5th, Dr Rediske wrote the scripts for me and then I had an appointment that same week to look at it. Dr Wallace's behavior was completely unacceptable. It was clear to me that his only concern was having a good holiday while I suffered and couldn't eat or sleep. I guess the only positive is I lost 11 pounds because I haven't been able to eat for 10 days. I run my own in business and have not had a sick day in 5 years. This week I lost 4 days because I literally didn't sleep even 5 minutes at night. Having been awake since Saturday, I didn't feel competent to drive a vehicle and could not focus at work if I tried. I would highly recommend Dr Rediske. Stay away from Dr Wallace because he is an uncaring self centered egomaniac and you better not need help on a weekend when he is on call because you will not get it. The review by Lisa that touts him as the best dentist leaves a question in my mind. Her location is FL and we are in VT. Does she travel to VT from FL for a dentist appointment?
