I am so very thankful to have a great eye doctor. Recently while I was busy at work, I experienced a terrible explosion working on a customers diesel pickup. The compressed oxygen that I use for testing the high pressure oil system mixed with hot engine oil, and ignited with a massive force! The top of the engine detonated without warning about 30 inches from my face. Hot burning oil covered me instantly. I lost all the skin on my hands. I lost all the skin on my face. As I lay in the trauma room, I heard my first good news. I still had my eyesight! The ER doctor said had it not been for my glasses, I would need to be flown to Harbor View for cornea transplants. Right away I remembered Mike DeRosiers advise when I started wearing glasses at age 50, "Just put them on and keep them on" he told me. I never knew how valuable that advise would be! Since the accident, I have more good news. Dr. DeRosier examined my vision and replaced those amazing glasses for no cost!
