Ribic's Wind & Solar Enterprises
Reviews
Before I made any purchase, I consulted the Owner, to give me an accurate estimate of what a Grid-Tie system would consist of and cost. He recommended (4) solar panels at 190W. After paying $10k cash and installing the system, I found out the solar panels did not provide enough voltage to kick on the inverter. I contacted Ribic's and said that it was an error and had to contact the manufacture of the inverter to verify. He agreed that the inverter required 200V rather than the 90V he told me. If you do the math, my inverter would require (8) solar panels rather than the (4) he recommended. For a company that has been in business for 20+ years, you would think they would know that... To correct the mistake, Ribic's said that he would sell me another (4) panels at retail minus shipping costs (an additional $4000). I thought since I was saving from shipping cost and accepted his offer. Since I had budgeted tightly for this project, I told Ribic's that I would send payments to hold the (4) solar panels. After several payments and several months later, Ribics told me that he had other panels that would work with my existing system, where in fact, I was told by Sanyo and Evergreen that it would be a bad idea to mix solar panels. On my visit to see Ribic's, I also found out that the (4) solar panels I had been making payments to were sold from under me, leaving me with the (2) mis-match panels they suggested. On debate, I decided to ask for a refund on the credit I established with Ribic's and was told that they would not refund me my money and would forfeit it if I did not pay the remaining amount by Sept 18, 2008. If you have "scam" running through your mind, then we are seeing eye-to-eye. To avoid further conflict, I decided to buy the (2) mix-matched solar panels and sell my (4) panels. I'm finding out that I can use less of the new panels to reach the 200V I need. Although it may seem like a "blessing in disguise" you can see how much of an inconvenience this has caused. Ribic's boasts about how much experience the company has. As far as I can tell, Ribic's is out to scam the inexperience. Fortunately, there are a few other Alternative Energy specialist companies out there. If you do a quick search you'll see reviews based on my personal experience.
