love safeway me and the family love it
Every Wednesday for years the weekly specials go into effect. Today I went to Safeway (which I rarely do) because of some every good prices on meat. The prices were higher than what the ad said. I asked the butcher and he said the ad does not start until Thursday. I asked why and he said "because they can"!!! I hate the games marketing plays--- 3 for $5, 4 for $8.99, etc. Why not just tell the customer how much the individual item cost? Do we have to take a calculator with us. Are you trying to make us buy more than what we need? And, why didn't Safeway honor the ad price? I guess I will stay a Fry's customer.
Went there once haven't gone back It didn't have that come back feeling ,sorry I'll stay with bashas.
Since i've moved to Mesa. I been shopping at this Safeway & I will not shop at any other Safeway. this Safeway has such great customer service & it's what keeps me coming back. the only downside is their Brand variety. other than that I recommend this Safeway to anyone &everyone!
Most helpful grocery store I've ever visited. Moved to the area very recently, but each visit the staff is courteous, helpful, and cheerful. My husband mentioned during our last visit that we've never seen the check out lines longer than 1 waiting behind the person with their stuff on the conveyor belt. Perhaps our chosen time to shop is just lucky, but as he said it, one of the cashiers called for an additional lane to open up, and within moments the next lane was made available. I don't think that's the first time we've witnessed such speedy adjustment. The butcher section was also a surprise - we were hunting up something but couldn't quite see it and the woman behind the counter immediately came around front to help us find our selection - and then proceeded to help us find the last two things on our shopping list that we hadn't been able to locate, either. She was quite friendly and eager to assist. She also explained some of the things the butcher counter could do for us (pick a pack of beef out and take it to the counter, they can grind it for you for a cheaper and healthier burger than some of their pre-ground packs) which yes, sure, it makes sense, but in all honesty I have never witnessed anyone actually letting the butchers do what they do best. The store is clean and well lit without being glaringly bright. My only possible complaint is that the store is a little smaller than I'm used to, so the selection is a bit slimmer. They seem to have everything, but your options in terms of brand variety is somewhat limited. That said, nothing has managed to disappoint thus far.
