I did not believe in acupuncture and never had the treatment before. Something about sticking needles in me just didn't sound appealing. Also by nature I don't like to try something new if it wasn't my idea or if I'm being forced into it. So now that I'm older I have neck, shoulder and limb pains. This is due to all the Motorcycle, Mountain Biking and other sports injuries I've had. My wife is a big time proponent of alternative medicine and she can be persuasive in more ways than one. I had gone to a sports medicine doctor in Newport Beach and he said the only solution is surgery. Well I won't go the surgery route unless I can't move. So after what seemed like years of persuasion from my wife, I finally went to Rainbow Acupuncture. Hong was very nice and conducted an initial evaluation of my symptoms. She prescribed a combination of Acupuncture, Gua Sha (scraping) and Cupping techniques for the specific areas of my pain. I had trouble sleeping at night, due to tense shoulder and neck muscles. In addition to numbness from pinched nerves in my arm. After the second treatment I began to feel a difference and was able to sleep at night, which meant the ability to perform better at my job during the day. Visited Rainbow Acupuncture regularly a couple times a week for about 6 months and all my symptoms went away. I couldn't believe it. Western medicine said surgery was the only solution, but Hong proved otherwise. I haven't been back for a year and just started back once a week to relieve my stress build up and maintenance so to speak. What people didn't tell me is how relaxing it is after the initial acupuncture and Gua Sha. I've fallen asleep many times during my visits and come out rejuvenated. I have to say Hong at Rainbow Acupuncture made me a believer and if you are on the fence, trying to avoiding surgery or want to fix something other people say can't be fixed this is the place to go. What have you got to loose? She'll turn you into a believer in alternative medicine like me. Thank you Hong!, Pat Chiang

I was in a car accident in February, 1998 and got pretty bad whiplash. For the past 16 years, I've experienced horrible headaches, occasional migraines, and constant neck, shoulder, and back pains. I've learned to live with the pain and discomfort because life must go on. Over the years, I've had countless chiropractic adjustments, massages, and physical therapy but the pains are still with me. I'm 37 years old and I feel too young to be in so much discomfort so often. I own over 15 personal massagers, yoga balls, foam rollers, heating pads, ice packs, medicated sports rubs, even an electrode machine because the pains in my neck and shoulders is almost too much to handle at times. Working out and lifting weights is good, but I don't always have the time or motivation to be exerting so much energy. I also lead a very busy and active lifestyle working with animals so I'm constantly pulling, pushing, lifting, jerking, bending, and walking. About a month ago, I tweaked my right shoulder and didn't really pay attention to it. Over the past few weeks, the pain had gotten progressively worse and I knew it was a pinched nerve. I tried everything on my own at home with my many massagers, even went to get a professional massage. Nothing seemed to help get rid of the pain and it only got worse. It got to the point where I had a burning, shooting, fire like pain and it was almost unbearable!! I was ready to stab a knife into the knot because it was hurting so badly!! I asked a friend to recommend a chiropractor because its something I'm familiar with, and its kind of worked in the past. Instead, I received the information for Hong at Rainbow Acupuncture and was told she will fix me. I've always wanted to try acupuncture but just never knew where to go. Hong got in touch with me right away and accommodated me last minute on her day off. She took plenty of time to talk to me about my issues and she is genuinely concerned about my well being. I received the Gua Sha treatment and then acupuncture. I noticed I felt about 50% better the next day, with still a strong burning pain in my back but it was bearable. I had my second treatment 4 days later and Hong did the Cupping on me. Its one of my favorite things now!!! Its intense but the benefits are amazing and I noticed I felt a lot better the following day. 3 days after that visit, I'm happy to say I finally made it through the whole day with no burning pain in my back!! I had my 3rd treatment this morning and I feel amazing!! I feel like a lot of tension and tight muscles have been loosened up, especially the stuff that is really deep and causes me the most pain. For once in the past 16 years, I feel like my old self! After having 3 treatments, I can honesty say I'm a believer and notice a big difference in my well being, energy levels, and mood. I feel great today and I owe it all to Hong!! I'm looking forward to more treatments and having other issues worked out. I will recommend Hong and Rainbow Acupuncture to everyone I know!! Angie C.

Rainbow treated my sister, who had a ligament replaced in her right knee in August 2012. A simple surgery that created multiple complications. She was unable to drive for months. She suffered permanent nerve damage and her lifestyle had totally changed. The surgery compromised her way of living. After her Dr. Said she had "recovered"' she was unable to walk upstairs to her bedroom without pulling on her banister and experiencing pain and swelling in her knee. She had to hire a dog walker for her pet and was unable to work out, go for walks, etc. As a final resort she opted for a pain block spinal sugary. She visited us three weeks prior to her surgery date and saw Rainbow for a treatment that consisted of acupuncture and cupping. Two days after her treatment she was able to walk for 5 minutes. Each consecutive day she was able to increase her walking time by 5-10 minutes per day. This was after only one treatment because my sister lives in Arizona. She has cancelled her surgery and is planning on visiting us for a week so she can continue with treatments. I would have never believed this to be possible, especially after one treatment. My sister is looking forward to continuing her recovery with Rainbow.
