I saw Wolf from 2009-2011. In short, I spent thousands of dollars on his care and the dietary supplements he sold me, and what I got out of it was: stomach ulcers and an eating disorder. Here is a detailed history, in case it’s helpful. I went to Wolf for severe eczema on my hands. During my first visit, Wolf told me that eczema “almost always” is caused by diet. He used a “biofeedback” machine to determine that I was “sensitive” to these foods: wheat/gluten, dairy, soy, corn, tomato, vinegar, orange, almond My instructions were to avoid all of them. Take a look at this list, and imagine removing every product that has any of these from your diet. It’s incredibly difficult. My insight several years later is that this is simply a standard list of stuff that can exacerbate inflammation and skin irritation, and that if you remove all of them, it’ll pretty much always help calm things down. I followed the instructions. My eczema seemed to lighten a bit, though it didn’t go away by any means. Wolf then had me take a diagnostic test by a lab called Genova. (Search for “genova lab reviews” for lots to make you leery about this company.) The results suggested that I had *serious* digestion issues, essentially that my body had lost its ability to process food, and it was passing through my system undigested, causing malnutrition and inflammation. Wolf then had me start taking dietary supplements before every meal: digestive enzymes and *hydrochloric acid*. Every week Wolf would give me a different list of stuff I was “sensitive” to. It varied; there would be things like carrots, chick peas, rice, pistachios, strawberry, lentils, green tea, olives, etc. It really started messing with my mind. My relationship with food transformed from one of joy to one of suspicion and dread. I started keeping a detailed log of *every ingredient* of every single piece of food I put in my mouth. I lost all happiness in eating. My whole family suffered. I continued to take the digestive enzymes and hydrochloric acid before every meal. Eventually, my skin condition got much worse: the eczema blossomed across my entire body, something it had never done before. It kept me from sleeping much or living any semblance of a normal life. Wolf decided to give me a “heavy metals test” by (again) Genova Labs. The results came back with elevated levels of mercury - according to Wolf they were some of the highest he’d seen, a few steps from levels at which he’d expect to see me hospitalized. He then had me start a very expensive set of supplements for “chelation” therapy, which is supposed to remove metals from one’s body. I finally lost my faith (born of desperation). I went to a gastroenterologist, who did an endoscopy and discovered I had serious stomach ulcers, almost certainly due to the hydrochloric acid supplements. My theory is that these were somehow connected to the full-body eczema. The doctor was initially circumspect when I asked her about Genova Labs, but when pressed she said she felt like their results always included “trumped-up” problems that would require costly therapy. Furthermore, I then got a heavy metals test from another lab, and the results came back with *completely normal* levels for mercury. I immediately stopped taking the supplements Wolf had sold me, got on a strong probiotic to help heal my ulcers, and eventually took up running daily. Within several months, my eczema went away entirely, for the first time since it had come on in 2006. Long story short, the treatment I received from Wolf turned out to be very destructive to me, both mentally and physically. Some others seem to have had better experiences, but I’m publishing all this lengthy and fairly personal information to prompt people to think carefully before seeking help through “biofeedback”, diagnostics from naturopath-associated labs like Genova, expensive dietary supplements, and attempts to solve problems through severe restrictions on foods.

I had no luck figuring out why I was always sick. I tried everything. After seeing Wolf for a quick food sensitivity test, I followed his advice and felt amazingly better. I would recommend him.
