Patient for 6 years. I loved Dr. Bishop (retired) and so far I really like Dr. Edmondson as well. The office staff are like friends of the family by this point. They even made our 4-year-old have an enjoyable 1st cleaning. They always have the latest technology - the thing that made me like Dr. Bishop in the first place. Can't recommend them too highly.

I would never pay this office a visit again. While obtaining general information about the practice, the receptionist by the name was Lisa was extremely unprofessional, discourteous, and ultimately lacked manners. I was bewildered why someone would act so impolite and crude. It was quite obvious that I had been racially profiled prior to even speaking. It's quite disheartening to know that a receptionist, the face of a practice, would act in such a way. This was by far my worst experience at any practice, and even beyond that, at any establishment. I would NEVER recommend.

By far the best experience I've ever had at a dental office. Wayne B. Bishop, D.D.S. was the fifth dentist I interviewed/attempted to interview in the Denton area before I decided that I was comfortable enough. He listens, considers the wisest response, and responds appropriately and IN CONTEXT! to your concerns. He allows you to make your own decisions in what you believe is the best course of treatment, and takes it a step further by giving you ideas on how to expand upon and achieve the best results from your choice. He also addressed the concerns I had with previous military dentists and together we did the cliche thing of establishing a new course of treatment for my new civilian life where I can have all my mercury removed and have nice, tooth colored, flouride fortified fillings put in. YEEESSSSS!!!! Oh, one more thing, he ripped my tooth out. I asked him to, of course, but he was willing when others were not. I want an implant. Pretty simple request. I have had teeth yanked before. By other dentists, my teeth came out in pieces, my face looked like I got hit with a Louisville Slugger, and one dentist even left a piece of tooth in my lower jaw when my wisdom teeth were removed. Totally unacceptable, but unfortunately you can't sue naval dentists so they get lazy. DDS Bishop's teeth pulling chair was like the hand made Bentley's of teeth pulling chairs. I am the expert, this is my fifth yanked tooth by the fifth dentist. You can't feel a single bump on the road. I got my tooth pulled less than 36 hours ago now, and there is no pain, almost no tenderness, no bruising, and it has clotted and is healing beautifully. Plus, I am not entirely sure what he used as leverage, because it was like he set his magic wand over my tooth and it was out (ok, kind of a stretch, but hey, its an analogy.) He didn't put his knee on my chest to use that as leverage. My disgusting, abcessed, traumatized ex- tooth came out in a SINGLE piece, (Bravo, Sir, truly impressive work), and The prices were reasonable, I'd pay triple if that's what the only competent dentist in the neighborhood wanted. The insurance billing staff responds to your concerns appropriately and in context, and they were considerate and responsive even to me, who is generally grumpy, frustrated at 99 percent of all medical staff, nervous, and contemptuously rude towards all medical staff initially. I am also aware of certain medical laws from working around the tattoo industry. Laws regarding medical equipment, biohazard waste, sterilization techniques, the creation of sterile fields while performing dental work, and other standards were all met with the rigor of accurate daily repetitiveness. I snooped around and everything appeared to be in compliance with laws and county health regulations, concerning labeling of auto claved tools, disinfectant usage, sterilization equipment maintenance, biohazardous waste storage, and locked cabinet spaces. I have found my permanent dentist.

My experience at Denton Family Dentistry was awful. The staff are so rude and make inappropriate comments under their breath. I was not satisfied with their service at all.
