Long Story Short - My insurance changed last year and unfortunately, I had to go to a different dentist on this new plan. I went to Southern Dental. The fill-in dentist for the normal dentist (whom no one ever told me she was only a fill-in) attempted a filling on a tooth in the back and in the middle of it told me she changed her mind and that I will need a root canal. She put in a temp filling and told me to reschedule for the root canal. The day of the proceedure the regular dentist introduces herself and says she was out on leave and that she will be my dentist from now on. This scares me since it is the DAY OF my root canal. She said that she wanted to do another exam and xrays before we start to make sure I needed a root canal. After these additional exams and xrays she said was 90% sure I didn't need a root canal and that I just needed a filling but wanted to wait to "let it heal" and we would do another exam. That freaked me out since they should KNOW right? That was 5 visits ago back in November and my temp filling that the first dentist put in is now cracked. The last visit she didn't know what side it was on, I waited an hour and 20 mins in the chair thinking about how she didn't know what side it was on. She was a really nice lady, but VERY overworked. They schedule like 5 or 6 people at once and only have one dentist working on everyone at the same time. After that wait and then hearing Larry, the finance guy, tell patients they needed more work then the dentist said and argue with them, I took off my bib and I walked out before they could do anything. I will pay out of pocket to never go there again.

Best place ever!! Call today to the dentist. If emergency, they will get you in today to see the dentist. It is near the end of the year and they will help you use your insurance up before the end of the year. Most people don't realize that most insurances give you $1000-2500 each year ,and max starts over in Jan. They give you options on crowns unlike most places. The Lava,Zir,Emax and Bruxzir crowns are much better than the standard metal crowns. You can schedule exam,xrays,and cleaning today. Call them today, Dentist and Staff are Great!!

Took my daughter to Southern Dental she chipped her tooth playing a friends house. They did a great job getting us in that day, and the dentist was able to first calm my daughter down and then calming me down. They stayed later to help and we are going to have her finish having her tooth fixed this week. I was really impressed with the whole office.

I went for my cleaning in July 2011. They said that I needed SIX fillings. Luckily I am scared to death of dentists so I kept canceling my appointments for my fillings. They called for about 4 months every week asking when I was going to reschedule. Finally I just said that I would call them. I just went to another private dentist yesterday that my husband and his Oral Surgeon uncle recommended. She said that my teeth looked great. There was one little spot but she would check it again on my next visit. How could I go from six major fillings to a spot?!? Southern Dental provides little customer service and apparently either the dentists don't know how to diagnose a cavity or they are attempting to cheat the insurance!

Does not even deserve one star. Worse place ever. Lady doctor tried to block the door to keep me from going in with my 11 yr old daughter. I insisted and was allowed to stand in the corner. Was told there was not enough room for a chair and I responded with thats ok I prefer to stand. The lady proceeded to swab my daughters mouth and then immediately injected the needle. I could tell my daughter was in pain. But I thought surely not. A doctor, a woman doctor for that matter,wouldnt do that. A week or so later I took my son in for a filling. He had a different lady doctor at the same clinic. They applied the swab. And then to my surprise, she waited. I asked her why. She said to allow time for the anesthesia to work. I was shocked. I have no doubt that the doctor mistreated my child because I had made ber angry. This is a horrible place. Its all about the money also. Seems the one and only priorty.
