I hadn’t gone in for an eye exam for a long time. It was getting to be difficult seeing the road signs and also reading, so I thought I’d go in for a check. I went to the office at King George and looked at their glasses and also made an appointment to see they’re doctor. Darlene was nice and friendly and their receptionist made me an appointment the next day to see the doctor. The next day I say dr Dizibela (they call him dr Joe). He tried for a good 15 minutes on his machine to make me see better, but it seemed that we still couldn’t get me to see the fine detail. It was still way better then with no glasses, but I knew something was not right. He then put drops in my eyes and I waited for about 20 minutes. When I came back into his room and he looked at me again he said I had cataracts and he didn’t want me to get glasses. I was bummed because I had already picked out a nice pair I liked, but appreciated that the dr didn’t just want to sell me glasses. Darlene had put in a lot of time with me while I was trying to choose my glasses, but she was completely fine with me not buying them now. They made me an appointment to see the eye surgeon in Falmouth. I haven’t gone yet, I was really impressed with how they didn’t push me into buying anything.
