Took my child here for the 1st dental check up. The waiting room left a lot to be desired. Not very child attractive other than the movie playing. Very bare and cold feeling. The front desk lady was not very friendly and the dental hygienist was awful. We waited 20 mins and then the hygienist got us and barely said hello to us. Didn't try help my child into the x-ray chair and once my child was up there, with my help, she tried to help my child put the x-ray bite piece in. Did not explain anything to my child so when my child bit down on the bite piece and she told my child, don't bite don't bite don't bite. After 2 attempts, she said forget the X-ray. Took us back to the exam room and told me that my child would probably cry and thats ok. ????? told me i needed to sit in the chair and hold my child, so i did. SHe turned on the tv that is in the ceiling. She started to get ready to clean my child's teeth. Remember, my child has never been to the dentist before. I asked the hygienist to show my child what she was using so my child wouldn't be afraid. She briefly did. THen she asked me to sit sideways on the chair and told my child in my lap so my child's legs were wrapped around my waist and my child's head in the hygienist s lap. Well now the tv is sideways on the ceiling. How do you expect a 2 yo to watch something sideways? We made 3 attempts to get my child to lay their head in her lap and my child was very scared and screaming. Don't want to traumatize my child so that I can't even brush teeth at home. She promptly got up and got the dentist. He was very nice and really tried hard to get my child to feel comfortable. We ended up leaving with no X-ray or cleaning and a bad first experience. Too bad we spend more time with a hygienist who doesn't seem to like or tolerate children because I did like the dentist. You must like children in order to work with them and it shows when you don't. THe office was clean, but not really set up for children. Need help on decor and more children friendly staff. We won't be back because you didn't make my child feel comfortable. You scared her.

We had the best experience at Wild West, from my very first phone call when I was enquiring about the office, to the moment we walked out the door after our apppointment! Our (2 year old ) son was very comfortable with Dr. Neilson and all of the staff! His work was amazing! Everyone is friendly and the office is clean! We reccomend Wild West to anyone who asks for a pediatric dentist!
