I transferred from Gateway Smiles to Maricopa Smiles because of a location change. My first visit was a joke. The dentist came in and immediately said I had two cavities on my upper teeth and as I had veneers he suggested a six crown bridge at a cost of 6000.00. Never explained if the cavities could be just corrected without that excessive amount to work Said one was so big he could see it visually and the other by X-ray. I said no to the suggested 6 crown deal and he offered to do it another way for 2000. I asked that they just give me a plan and I would think that over. Then the hygienist came in and began his routine. Wanted to discuss implants on my upper left side and I told him those teeth had been missing since the 70's so we wouldn't go there. He was very rough with my teeth, so much so that by the time I left the office and went to our summer home in Lakeside, my bottom tooth was loose. I visited a dentist in Lakeside who said it was not the veneer but the entire tooth. And he looked at the area where the dentist wanted to do a 6 crown bridge and said if it was visible, he couldn't see it. At the end of my appointment a nice girl came in and again wanted to know if I wanted to begin the treatment that day. I declined. At no time did they ask if I had insurance which I do. So both proposals are without any insurance mentioned. Needless to say I returned to Gateway Smiles and they are going to repair the damage with insurance on the loose tooth. Wow! One visit and gone.

Please do not go here! To start with, for my first appointment (and my first impression), after making me wait for 40 minutes after my appointment time, I was then asked to reschedule my appointment because they were too backed up to be able to see that day without making me wait for hours. Then (in the rescheduled visit), I saw so many different people during my visit that it didn't seem personal at all, I felt like a number not a person. They have a different person for EVERYTHING, so I was constantly getting moved from one to the next. The girl who did the x-rays shoved the things in my mouth so hard that I ended up with blood blisters in my mouth. Then when the costs were discussed with me (which was not at the beginning but rather after they had already started, which made me wonder what this visit was going to cost me)they tried to sell me a bunch of services that were not covered by my insurance and totaled up a $800 bill for me, which I declined. Then the hygenist came in and that was the worst part. No bedside manner, did not even ask if I had any problem areas or sensitivity, just started attacking me with instruments in the least gentle way possible. And since he didn't ask if I had any problem areas, he made sure to hit all of them with a vengeance and made me practically jump right out of the chair. Then he made me feel like it was my fault for being too sensitive, rather than the fact that he was extremely rough and not tactful at all. Needless to say, I could not wait to get out of this office, it was a terrible experience right from the moment I walked in the door, and unfortunately, it did not even improve as the appointment went on, it only got worse.

Nice clean office with friendly staff. Dental Hygenist does a phenomenal job. Walked out feeling so much better. Teeth clean and healthy.
