Fawcett Memorial Hospital

Was there for a sharp searing stabbing in right side..after taking almost an hour to put in IV so they could give me a shot, they did blood and urine tests, finally gave me a shot of Fentanyl which relieved pain for 10 minutes told me I wasn't going to die from it and go home they couldn't/wouldn't help...will never step foot in a place that sends yo home in as much or more pain than when you came in. Never even saw the "doctor". Try any other hospital, but stay away from this is you want help !
Avoid this Hospital and Emergency Room at all costs. This business epitomizes everything wrong with the predatory healthcare industry. This county would be much better off if this business closed it's doors. The Emergency room is putting peoples lives in danger with Lazy and Erroneous Diagnosis which could have lifelong consequences to those unfortunate enough to walk through their doors; Thomas J. Rice president and CEO of this Business is only looking to profit from the sick and injured. We waited over 5 hours before being able to see a Physician for less than a minute who had ordered an expensive set of Xrays to look for what turned out to be severe muscle damage. We told them going in that it wouldn't show anything. Even I know you can't examine muscle in an Xray. Clearly a way for them to over bill and get rid of a customer as quickly as possible with a huge bill in the mail, a discharge, a prescription for Midol. They do not care for the Health or well being of people only making as much money possible on the Sick, Injured, and Dying.
My experience at Fawcett Memorial was beyond what I expected. I had J hooks placed by the Mammography Department, and they made me feel so comfortable and relaxed and my anxiety soon passed. The staff was so kind and caring and very professional. Thank You so much.
God-awful idiots run that hospital. I was trying to get the condition of my mother. During that call I spoke with no less than 6 people. None of them, until the last was able to give me any information. Rude too. DON'T RECOMMEND!!!
My mother in law took a bad fall. Ambulance took her to er, They did a ct scan diagnosed her with a ut infection and sent her home. Sent a incontinent elderly lady home with no undergarment on! When asked, I was told they did not have any undergarments. Charlotte county Florida. The county has the oldest population in the state! Her doctor immediately got her off to a hospital in Sarasota. She was hurt so bad she could not stand up much else walk. They sent her home. Our first visit to this hospital. Never again.
